.

Music comes up louder, and  Eleanor sings.

[ Click here to hear a demo* of the start of I Am Your Feline.]
  [*With a male voice.]

  I am your feline,
  Your only feline.
  I made a bee-line
  straight to your heart

  And I will be yours,
If you will be mine . . .
  Yes, it's true, we two
  Will never part . . ..

Vamp continues. Eleanor speaks over it again:

ELEANOR: Sure, maybe that seems like a Tabby kind of thing; and there might be plenty of Toms out there who don't feel that way...

OLIVIA: Or they're afraid to. I've met plenty of Toms who WANT to settle down. That's because they're really and truly sure of themselves.

[Murphy's been silent up to now. But at this, he strides slowly across the stage, then stops. A pause.]

MURPHY: Don't listen to 'em, pal. That idea -- "If you're really self-confident, then you'll be reliable and faithful and steady" -- that's DOG logic.

JACK and DESIREE [Big, mock-horrified]:Oooh!

[ . . . and so on. The online sample pages of the script end here.]
